Rough Night

Boy did we have a horrible night here last night....

It started off so good, and then spiraled out of control

Kyle has been gone for 7 days for a "man's trip" and work so we were so excited that he was coming home tonight, which he did, and Big E was so excited to see him...as was I....

Of course as with every night, Big E and dad had to take the four wheeler over to our in-laws right across the section, and the dogs always come along, and when we get to the in-laws the dogs head to the creek, swim, and get water.....

Everything happened in that order only Bo was nowhere to be found...
this is not unusual, they are usually out and about and got their noses to the ground and find their way back to our house....

We headed back home and my mother in law asked if we would come back over for a minute so the whole family headed back...and we were wondering where Bo was still...and then Kyle found him on the side of the house, laying flat on the ground, rapid breathing, eyes rolled back....

and then shit hit the fan...we got cold towels and tried to slow down his breathing but nothing was working....

Bo died en route to the vet....the vet said it was heat exhaustion and labs are really prone to it, and that it doesn't have to be that hot to get heat exhaustion

and we are devastated.....

this dog greeted me every morning before I went to class in town and then went outside to go to the bathroom...he was always leaning on someone, knocking a kid over, laying on top of you, letting Big E crawl all over him....he was such a teddy bear..

and I am missing him terribly already....
