Lasagna Sandwhiches

This recipe was adapted from our kitchen here at work.  Our sous chef prepared it for a small group of residents in her cooking class.  They loved it and it looked delicious, but a couple things needed to be "caseyfied" as my sister calls it.  I thought the sandwiches were really good.  Only thing I would of done differently, the bread. The original called for Italian Bread, and I had all intentions of making homemade whole wheat Italian bread in my bread maker the night before, but totally forgot, so we used the remaining Arnolds Multigrain thins for our buns.

P.S. Finally figured out why my pictures were not saving, the auto save option had been unchecked....as if, so hopefully this is the last non picture recipe:)
Recipe:

Lasagna Sandwhiches for our family of 4)

  • 2 tablespoon chopped onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/8 teaspoon of season salt

  • 4 pieces of turkey sliced thinly(original recipe called for bacon, but I am not a bacon person)
  • 4 slices tomatoes
  • 2 slices fresh mozzarella
  • Canola oil spray

Directions:

  1. Combine first 4 ingredients; spread on four slices of bread.
  2. Top each with canadian bacon or thin sliced turkey pieces, two tomato slices, and a slice of cheese.
  3. Top with remaining bread.
  4. Set skillet at medium heat and lightly spray
  5. Cook sandwiches on both sides until bread is lightly browned and cheese is melted,
